Autumn photos have been a bit thin in my portfolio.  It's a small window in order to get out and capture the leaves and other stereotypical elements of the season.  I've been a bit hampered this year but I still got something.

Autumn has been in full force for weeks.  The leaves are gone and the spooks are about to start wandering the world again.  However, that doesn't mean that we can't enjoy some of the beautiful colors from a few weeks ago.

Cramer Imaging's professional quality nature photograph of yellow little leaf linden leaves on tree branch in Pocatello, Bannock, Idaho

Did you know that the reason leaves change color this time of year is because of the changing angle of the light?  That's right.  Leaves change color to absorb different frequencies of light based upon where the sunlight is coming from.  The temperature has nothing to do with the color change but everything to do with when the tree decides to drop its leaves.

These amazing beauties were some of the first leaves on the tree to change from green to yellow this year.  These linden trees change color from the inside out.  We get to see a mottled color scheme for a bit which doesn't last long.

I wanted to isolate the green from the yellow leaves in this photo.  I managed to even get the leaves backlit a little bit.  The green wasn't doing it for me in composition but, through the magic of Photoshop, I have this lovely photo of golden heart-shaped leaves with a soft and dark bokeh.
