Photo of the Week 73

Photo of the Week 73
Where has the time gone?  It flies fast.  It's Friday again.  That means that it's time for Cramer Imaging to unveil another featured "Photo of the Week."  For this week, we have chosen something special, at least we think so.

The week's photo is that of a tree in wintertime against a piercing blue sky.  It is a high contrast image.

The photo started out as a simple walk in the park.  We needed to get out and get some fresh air.  We decided to take a walk to the local city park for a break.

While wandering through the grounds, we decided to sit down for a bit and catch our breath.  As I looked up, I saw this tree.  It wasn't all that spectacular at first but the more that I looked at it, the more I liked what I saw.

Thanks to my polarized sunglasses, I was able to change the polarization of the light and sky around the tree into a high contrast view.  I commented on it and thought about it for a few seconds.  Then I decided that I wanted to photograph it.  Unfortunately, I did not bring my camera with me.

We rushed back home for my camera bag in hopes of beating the fading bright light and returning to the spot in time.  It was a tight window, but we managed to make it back before the quality of the light changed.

Thanks to my polarizing filter and tripod, I captured this shot.  It was a great addition to my portfolio.
