This article’s topic is similar to another article I’ve written about where to buy landscape photography.  If you’re seeking landscape photography specifically, then I recommend reading that article.

Fine art photography is a rise in popularity.  People are picking up cameras and starting into the field everyday.  You have no shortage of fine art photography options.  Thanks to this, there are a few places you can look for fine art photography.  If you’re looking for some office artwork, then you might check out this article to help you find just the right art for your office.

Online Shopping Hubs

One of the first things you’ve probably done is to start a search for “buy fine art photography” or some similar search terms.  Next, your search engine of choice will bring up lots of different options which it thinks best answers your query.  Within the first several options you’ll probably see some big names on the internet.  These places might include Amazon, eBay, and Fine Art America.

These retail giants of the online world dominate the scene when it comes to shopping for fine art of any kind, not just photography.  It would be very difficult to not run into them on the 10 ten search results.  To avoid them, you must specifically exclude them from your search.

If you know how to navigate sites like these, then you can find and buy fine art photography easily.

Art Galleries

If you feel like doing a little more local shopping for your fine art photography, you might check out some local art galleries have to offer.  Of course, regular galleries will offer more than just fine art photography for sale.  However, if you visit a specific art show or a gallery owned by a fine art photographer, you often won’t find artist variety.

If you shop for your fine art photography using an art gallery, you will find a sampling of photographers.  These different local photographers are all hoping to sell their work.  You will have options to choose from.

You will also probably have custom matting and framing at your fingertips as well.  Most art galleries tend to offer this as a service to their customers.  If you want to fancy up your fine art photography purchase, then a fine art gallery can be a one-stop shop for you.

Direct From the Artist

If you can carefully sift out the big-name retailers and giant corporations from your internet search, then you might be surprised to learn that most fine art photography for sale is for sale by the artists themselves.  You might not be all that surprised either.

Thanks to the internet and online storefronts, fine art photography has never been more accessible to the artist to sell nor to the customer to buy.  You will find tons of different fine art photographers out there all trying to sell their photos to you.  This is where you have the best selection of all.

Some artists have their own galleries but many artists sell their art through ecommerce channels on the internet.  If you opt to buy fine art directly from the artist, then you help ensure that artist can keep making more art.  He or she need not split the proceeds with others such as online shopping hubs or galleries.

Conclusion

If you’re in the market for fine art photography, you couldn’t have more options on who to buy from.  You can see all kinds of fine art out there ranging from landscapes, to macro, to abstract, and more.  Your best option is to buy direct from the artist.  Websites with built-in store fronts have made that easy for you to do from the comfort of your own home.  Of course, you can still check out other options like giant retailers or art galleries if your tastes run more that direction.

If you need any help, you might check out my article on a beginner’s guide to buying fine art.  Don’t forget the most important consideration when buying fine art.  If you’re looking to buy fine art photography as an investment, you should check out this article.  Given the wide variety of fine art photography on the market today, you should be able to find something you like.  However, if you don’t, you might check out this article on commissioning a photo project.

Since you’re in the market for fine art photography, you might check out my online store.  I sell beautiful and unique fine art landscapes which work well with any kind of decor.
