I’ve learned a thing or two since becoming a landscape photographer, and I want to share some of that wisdom with you! ⠀So, here are a few of my tried-and-true techniques for choosing just the right fine art picture for a space.

To start with, please keep in mind that these tips are here to help you.  Do not mistake them for professional advice.  If you want professional advice on decorating your home, please seek out an interior designer or an interior decorator.  They have the professional expertise you require.

1. Choose Your Space

Firstly, figure out the space where the picture is to be displayed.  What size of wall space do you have?  What colors of furniture, upholstery, curtains, and other decorations?  After all, a warm-toned picture probably won’t work out in a cool-toned room.

2. Choose Your Picture

Secondly, choose a picture which will work well in the space.  Remember the general color scheme of the room and the available wall space.  Then choose something meaningful which can be a statement piece.  If you love landscapes, choose a beautiful landscape which means something to you personally.  Did you go there on vacation?  Have you heard stories about that place and always wanted to visit there?  The deeper the meaning to you, the better.

3. Choose Your Presentation Method

Finally, choose your presentation method.  Do you want a matted and framed print?  What frame and also what color mat?  How about a canvas wrap?  There’s also the triptychs and other variants.  Choose from what is available.  Remember that you must also account for mats and frames in your available wall space.

Conclusion

In conclusion, it really is that simple.  You can choose the right fine art for your home.  I hope this helps, friend!  Also, comment below if you’d like to see more of these tips in the future!
