I’ve been making a point to try and get out there for more autumn leaves photos while there are still leaves to photograph.  That has presented some interesting challenges and opportunities given this particular year’s challenges.  Still, there has been some beautiful color available to me and I’ve been happy to take advantage of it for photographic purposes.  Here’s some of my latest for you to enjoy: fall colors in Idaho.

Lately, we’ve had some business in Idaho Falls so I took the time to bring my camera along with me.  There’s quite a bit to shoot if you know where to look.  I have a few ideas of where to go so I made a point of dragging the camera gear along.

I started scouting for a location during the horrible direct light of daytime.  It can be enough to dissuade me from starting to scout but I persevere because sometimes I can find a way to make it work or I find a spot which I can return to later when the light is a lot better for landscape photography.  However, I managed to find a spot which worked right away.  It was completely in the shade.

After that, I took some time to rest and warm up.  So, I waited until the light was a lot better and tried some other locations.  I wanted to try and get the famous Idaho Falls waterfall so I set up on the Greenbelt and found the right angle on the waterfall with the beautiful fall leaves in the falls within the frame.

I felt privileged to get out and have a change of scenery during this season.  I’m happy that I can share these beautiful new landscape photos with you.  Please share what you think of these fall colors in Idaho in the comments section below.
